In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Anthony de Lugo, 61, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Monday, July 20, 2026.

Born on May 12, 1965, Tony was a gifted entertainer, musician, and creative spirit whose love of music and engaging personality touched the lives of many throughout the Virgin Islands community. A talented trombonist and songwriter, Tony had a true passion for music. Tony played with several local bands, including Simon and the Volcanics, The Dred Ones, the legendary Imagination Brass, The Wrecking Crew, and Sweet’Ta Band. Through his music, he was able to travel throughout the Caribbean and the U.S. Tony graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School with the Class of 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvaro de Lugo Jr. and Marie I. de Lugo.

He is survived by his brother, Alvaro de Lugo III (Marjorie); his sisters, Joanne Ullrich Barry and Monique de Lugo Plaskett; his aunts and uncles, Diane de Lugo Doss, Sandra de Lugo Olive, Beverly de Lugo Collins, Charlene de Lugo Jones, Diana de Lugo Smith, Francisco Serrano (Henriette), Robert de Lugo (Joan), and Charles de Lugo; his nieces, Kalima Andrew (Hitson), Nicole Travis (Shawn), Simone Dreher (Coy), Danica Towns (Tommy), Al’Lima Trotman (Perry), Demaris Belardo, Daria Belardo and Al’Layah de Lugo; his nephews, Jason de Lugo (Brittany), Mathu Barry (Phuong), Antonio de Lugo, Alvaro de Lugo IV (Ayanna), Aleem de Lugo, and Jequan de Lugo; Step-children Atiba Daniel, Atikrah Daniel, Akira Daniel; Step-grandchild, Josiah Freeman, and many cousins, other relatives, and friends who mourn his passing and will forever cherish his memory.
