In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Carmen Aubain. A beacon of laughter and creativity whose passion for life was evident in all she pursued, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Salisbury, Maryland, after a long illness following a stroke.

Born on May 17, 1951 in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Carmen was the daughter of the late Joseph Jules and Ann Sylvanie Aubain. Though she bid farewell to siblings, Lionel Olive, Mary Aubain, Marie B. Cruz, John H. Aubain, and Joan C. Sibilly, before her own departure, Carmen's spirit is carried on by her surviving siblings Eddie  (who died 10 days after Carmen), Jimmy, Raymond, Irene, Christine, David, William, Carol, and Danny. Her in-laws, Farida Aubain, Juan Cruz, Paula Aubain, and June Aubain, along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, will fondly remember her joyful presence.

Carmen graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School in 1970. Carmen's educational journey laid the foundation for her future successes. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to Salisbury, where she made her mark as the owner and operator of The French Connection Salon for over three decades. She later founded Salon Studies in Salisbury, where she continued to work until her well-deserved retirement.

Carmen's life reflected the importance of living with intention and joy. Her creative soul found expression not only in her professional endeavors but also in her personal passions. An exceptional cook, Carmen delighted in preparing Island cuisine, infusing her dishes with the flavors of her heritage and the warmth of her heart. Her love for island music was infectious, as was her fondness for gardening.

Traveling was another of Carmen's joy, especially to St. Barts, her father place of birth and where many family members still reside. Yet, it was in her salon where Carmen's heart truly resided. Cutting hair was more than a profession; it was a medium through which she connected with her customers, sharing stories, laughter, and life's milestones. Her friendships were treasured, and she cherished the moments spent going out with friends, celebrating the simple pleasures and grand adventures alike.

Described as funny, creative, and passionate. Her laughter will echo in the memories of those who knew her, and her creative spirit will continue to inspire. As we bid Carmen farewell, we honor her life by remembering the way she made each of us feel—a unique blend of joy, inspiration, and love. Carmen life was a journey of joy, creativity, and love, one that touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.  Rest in peace, dear Carmen, until we meet again.
