Clement Erskine Friday, Sr. December 25, 1932 – September 14, 2023 Clement Erskine Friday, Sr. was born on December 25, 1932, to Iris Boncamper and Dennis Friday on the island of Nevis. His early childhood was spent between Antigua and Nevis where he completed his education at the Charlestown Boys School at 15. Shortly after he finished school, he moved back to Antigua joined the Leeward Islands Police Force and served on the islands of Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, and the British Virgin Islands. After 14 years as a police officer and having attained the rank of Sergeant, he resigned and moved to St. Thomas. After moving to St. Thomas, he worked for Texaco Caribbean, Inc. Mr. Friday began his career with Texaco as a Clerk, he was later promoted to Sales Representative, and after 24 years retired from Texaco as the Terminal Superintendent. While serving on the island of Barbuda he met the love of his life, Lillian Sebastian. The two were married for 67 years until her death in August 2021. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, his son Nicholas, his brothers Delvin, Dennis, and Preston, and his sisters, Helen, Doreen, and Olivene. Left to mourn his loss are his children, Jennifer, Lilrose (Sydney), Clement Jr. (Janet), John (Pat), Karen Joanne, Gerard (Charmaine), Beverly, Avery, Bernadette, Bernadine, and Chantel, his sisters, Ada, Millicent, and Esther, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and special son, George. Many other family and friends, too numerous to mention. Many of you who know him, will remember him for his sense of humor, always the jokester. He is now happily reunited with loved ones and in the arms of his God. Rest in Eternal Peace. The family will hold services in Georgia and St. Thomas. Memorial Service: Holy Cross Episcopal Church 2005 South Columbia Place Decatur, GA 30032 October 5, 2023 - 1 p.m. Funeral Service: St. Luke Episcopal Church Smith Bay, St. Thomas, VI October 27, 2023 - 10 a.m. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Tree of Life at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Decatur, GA, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Smith Bay, St. Thomas, VI
