In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Edmancia Nehil Charles (Manso) Sylvester,91, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away on May 18, 2026, at Hummingbird Senior Living Facility, Sierra Vista, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband John Abraham Sylvester, and her Son, Rannie "JnoBoy" Prosper.

Edmancia was born on Feb 2, 1935 in Salisbury, Dominica. She relocated to St. Joseph in her youth and remained on The Morne until she migrated to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands in 1967. She lived in Smith Bay and worked at various businesses including Cowpet Bay Villas, Magens Bay, and Sapphire Bay Condominiums. Edmancia traveled extensively after she retired. She visited her children and grandchildren who lived on the mainland and overseas. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, but she especially enjoyed singing everywhere she went. She also created a Christmas Caroling Band every Christmas. The band sang outside windows, near front doors, under the darkness of night while bringing melodious tunes to many happy hearts around the holidays.

Edmancia's life journey was difficult in the beginning, but she shone through each and every undertaking, including cooking, baking, sewing, and her very favorite, gardening. She spent many hours in her garden and was noted for always having flowers in her hands.

She is survived by her Children: Evelyn Lafleur, Ralief Prosper, Renna Prosper (Crowford), Maslyn Prosper-Mayberry (Shed), Hazel Sylvester, Morla Sylvester, Morly Sylvester, Meddy Sylvester (Rhett), Johnny Sylvester (Kim), Scikie Sylvester (Tiffany); Grandchildren: Yolanda, Johnny, Alan, Freddie, Jones, Cynthia (Evelyn). Tajah, Taj, Kismet (Ralief). Rannie Jr., Yasmin, Shakeela (Rannie). Vincia, Tammy, Mariah (Renna). Sherahlyn (Tony), Antonio (Maslyn). Mariah, Aaliyah (Hazel). Siobhan, Shannon, Shawn (Morla). Darnell, Bryan (Morly). Ashley, Stephen, Bryahanna, Monica Pollock (Meddy). Kassidy, (Johnny). Ailena (Scikie).
