In profound sorrow, we, the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services, announce the passing of Etla Hoheb Gaskin, 86, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025.  Etla was born on St. Thomas to Frank Hoheb & Raphaela Testamark on September 23, 1939. After graduating from high school Etla relocated to Norwalk, Ct, where she worked as an assembler for an electronics company for a short time. Etla eventually started working as a housekeeper which she did until retiring and moving back home to St. Thomas. Once she got back to St. Thomas, she began working as a daycare provider. Etla was known for her sassy personality, strong character and loving nature. She loved her family & the children that she took care of. Etla was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Raphaela Hoheb, her husband Alfredo Gaskin, her sister Maude Hoheb, her brothers Rodney & George Hoheb. She is survived by her son, Rodney McBride, her sister Altagracia Bennett and a wide circle of family and friends who will cherish her memory.
