She is survived by her children, Jennifer & Jewel Edwards; Grandchildren, Tatiyanah Umaru; Siblings: Joycelyn "Sister" George, Patrick Thomas, Melissa Southwell, Vashti Ashterman, Philip Ashterman, Rita Ashterman, Ionie Ashterman Lambert, Avlyn Ashterman Reece, Andrea Ashterman Joseph, Rowdon Ashterman; Nieces and Nephews: Mya Southwell and Ean Southwell and too many more to mention; Her long-time partner, Joseph "Essie" Browne. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins too many to mention. A special Cheryl Browne, Maizel James Mayer, Dustin James, Valencia Wright, Vivian Wilson, Carole Todman, Cheryl Edwards and many others.

Special thanks to her cousin Cheryl Edwards for the love, support, and care shown to Gen, especially during her final hours. Your presence brought comfort to Jewel, Patrick, Melissa, Joycelyn, and Jennifer.
