Obituary

In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Joel V. Hyndman, 66, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Friday, February 20, 2026.

Joel Vincent Hyndman, affectionally known as "Bushman and Uncle Joe" lived a beautiful life. Born on July 12, 1959, in Tortola British Virgin Islands to loving parents, John & Esmie Hyndman (deceased). He was a loving man, dedicated to his family, friends and strangers alike. He served in the United States Army and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him. Joel is survived by his wife Dr. Greta Hart-Hyndman, his children - Tiffany and Tafara Hyndman, and his grandchildren - Josiah and Adonojai Dalmida. His legacy of service, unconditional love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

A funeral service to honor Joel's life and service will be held at Turnbull's Funeral Home on March 26, 2026 at 10:00 am. Military burial will be rendered at the graveside at Eastern Cemetery - Smith Bay.
