In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Joseph Crawford, 84, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Monday, July 20, 2026.

Joe was born in 1941 in Virginia to Mr Saint Anthony Crawford, and Elaine Dawson Crawford. Joe is survived by his brothers, Saint Crawford in Ohio, James Crawford in New York, Abraham Crawford in Virginia, and sisters Mabel Wilson in Virginia, Elaine Jordan in New York ,Cynthia Crawford in Virginia, 20 nieces and nephews, 27 grand nieces and grand nephews. Also his friend and caretaker Riche Forvil, and friends Dr. Maxine Nunez, Myron Lescott, Penny Bruce, Tony and Rose, Crispin Weeks, Monica, and hundreds of friends and students along the way.

Joe chose St Thomas, VI to be his home 63 years ago. Upon arrival, he taught music class at Charlotte Amalie High School for 30 years before retiring.

Joe ran many marathon races all around the world. He loved traveling, playing tennis, teaching aerobics at the UVI, participating in Carnivals, being the Crawford family historian, and so many activities.
