In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Laurel S. Prophet, 91, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026.

She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, selfless love, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She found great joy in sharing her faith and was always willing to help others. Laurel worked at the West Indian Company for 35 years prior to retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Prophet.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Prophet Charles, Jose Ann Plunkett; sons, Alexander Prophet, Winston Prophet, James Prophet; grandchildren, Crystal Plunkett-Saunders, Natasha Plunkett, Ashley Prophet Richardson, Kheron Prophet, Keith Charles Jr., Khalem Charles, Kierra Prophet, Isaiah Prophet, Jordon Prophet, James Alex Prophet, Jaylon Prophet; brothers, George (Freddy) Matthew (d), Llewellyn Brown (d), Dr. Ronan Matthew; sisters, Bernadine Carmichael, Dr. Violet Gordon, Novella Maybanks, Jean Kirnon, Kathleen Matthew, Yvonn Matthew; special family and friends, Ferdinand Gonsalves Barreiro, Llewellyn Brown Jr., Lynette Gumbs, Judy Hobson, Collins Michael; loving relatives and friends to numerous to mention.
