Leonel Oralis Robles, Jr. aka Boysie was born on the island of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on June 16, 1950 to the late Leonel "Leo" Oralis Robles and Amanda Melvina Martin Robles.

He graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School in 1968. He attended the North Carolina Central University on a football scholarship, excelling both on the field and in the classroom while earning a degree in Communications. Upon completing his college education, he returned home to St. Thomas bringing his passion for communication and leadership. He first worked for VITELCO, then later for Chase Bank, where he served as Chief Communication Director for the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Maarten.

His commitment to his community extended beyond the corporate world as he also held the role of Director of Recreation at the Alvin McBean Recreation Center, where he worked diligently to enhance opportunities for local youth and athletes.

He was an all-around athlete competing in softball, basketball, paddleball, and tennis but excelling in volleyball. He was a member of the 1978 Virgin Islands National Volleyball Team that won the gold medal in Guyana.

He was involved in the local Power Volleyball league at the Charlotte Amalie High School gymnasium for many years. In his later years, he continued his dedication to sports by playing a crucial role in the construction of the volleyball field in Hardeeville, South Carolina. He also spearheaded the establishment of the 50 and older volleyball club in Sun City Hilton Head, enriching the lives of many through camaraderie and active living.

He is preceded in death by his grandson, Terrence Maurice Gunn Robles; his sisters Azalia (Zalie) Krigger Thomas, Lucilla (Cilla) Robles Larsen, Gertrude Robles Plaskett, Leonore Robles Gumbs, Joan Robles-Williams, Feremina Chrysanthia Robles-Greene, Greta–Mae Callwood; and brothers Winston Robles Sr., Donald Robles, Harold Robles and Angel Robles, Sr.

He is survived by his daughters: Rochelle Robles-Olibrice, LaToya Robles, Regina Robles-Atkinson and Leanda Robles-Collis; his sons: Jason Robles, Shawn Robles, David Robles and Jonathan Robles; his grandchildren: Amarise Ruby Olibrice, Analise Lucie Olibrice, Marlena Fiona Gunn Robles, Samuel Joseph Gunn Robles, Bryana Nycole Shanta Robles, Michayla Semone Robles and Dylan Micah Atkinson; his sisters: Jean Robles-Wiltshire, Joyce Robles-Potter, Una Cousins, Lorraine Francis– Edwards, Ethel Robles-Joseph, Ann Marie Robles, and his brothers: Larry Robles and Elridge Robles and many other siblings too numerous to mention; as well as a great number of nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him Uncle Boysie. He is also survived by his best friends and brothers in Christ, Melvin "Melo" Pickering, Levron "Paps" Sarauw, John Forbes, and Eldridge Blake.

Leonel Robles will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, kindness, leadership, charm and joy that he brought to many, especially his family. His legacy lives on in the communities he served, the family he adored, and the friendships he cherished. He will be missed tremendously and loved eternally.
