In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Millicent Ann Louise "Elvira" Rivera, 93, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Saturday, June 07, 2025.
Millicent Ann Louise 'Elvira' Bryan was born September 15, 1931 on the island of Antigua to Maude Nathaniel and Samuel Bryan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Onesimo Rivera, sons Fredrick (Freddy) and Wilburn (Bunny) and godsons Morrel Meyers, Jr and Michael McKie. She is survived by her sister Jean Innis, her children Melbourne (Mel) Carol, and Chantale, grandchildren, Kadeem, Chaleah, Chabarri, Jaxon and Tiombe; great-grandchildren Nature, Taryn, Taelyn and Triniti and her adopted children Shena, Latoi, Pauline W, Pauline L and Adele, her best friend of over 70 years, Millicent Clarke, special friends Roma Jarvis, Alberta Payne, Janet Smalls, ex-husband Robert David, stepchildren and other special relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
She has served her community in various roles. She was a 4H coordinator, a Girl Scout leader and a member of AARP of the VI, an active member of the Alumni Class of '65 and the Antigua/ Barbuda Heritage Link.
She was an active member of St. Andrew's Church and has served as a member of Episcopal Church Women, Titus II and Health Ministry.
