Patrick Anthony
Beretta
Nov 25, 1959 — Jun 12, 2024
In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Patrick Anthony Beretta, 64, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024. . Patrick was born November 25, 1959 to Elizabeth (Betsy) Eckenroth and George Beretta in Chicago, Illinois. He was 4 years old when the family moved back to his father's hometown of St. Thomas. He graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School in 1978 and went on to work at A.H. Riise. After working in construction for a few years, he started his own construction business and took extreme pride in providing outstanding workmanship. He would travel the island after hurricanes to point out the houses that he had built, still with roofs intact, amidst the surrounding devastation. He generously helped out many island family friends in preparing for hurricanes and in the inevitable aftermath cleanups. Patrick was a strong, proud and resilient soul. He married Dawn Makin in 1994, and endured her untimely death in 2008. The birth of his son Landin, who he welcomed with Natalie Brandt in 2009, offered him renewed vigor and purpose in life. He was so incredibly proud of what a smart and outstanding young man Landin is becoming, and would frequently relay this to family and friends. He was a hardworking and loving man, having been primary caregiver for both of his parents in their declining years. Patrick was a good friend and brother to many, and could always be counted on to be there when you needed him. Over the past several years with his love and life partner, Timisa Miller, he has been so happy and has found his smile again. Timisa has been his unfailing support system through thick and thin, helping to take care of his mother, and was a shining light at the end of his hard days. He suffered losses, but never lost his easy-going ability to smile and playfully tease his friends. Please know that even if he cursed you out sometimes, he still loved you. He always had a smile, a joke, a poem or a song for you, even on his worst of days. Patrick is survived by his son, Landin Beretta of Waynesville, NC; partner Timisa Miller of St. Thomas, VI; siblings Barbara (David) Monoson of Horse Shoe, NC, Dante (Jaimie) Beretta of Park Rapids, MN, Giglia (David Booth) Beretta of Hornsby, Australia, Vicky (Jim) McQuaide of Centre Hall, PA, Bonnie (Jeb) Chard of Windsor, MA; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Dawn (Makin) Beretta; parents, George Antonio Beretta and Betsy (Eckenroth) Beretta; and brother, George Michael Beretta. In honor of Patrick, please do something good for someone else, because, as he would say, "one hand washes the other". He could frequently be heard saying, "it is what it is", so be resilient and keep on smiling… and always remember on your birthday, to "eat cake and enjoy!"
