In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of Turnbull's Funeral Home & Crematory Services announce the passing of Washington Gumbs of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands who passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023. He is preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Phillips. His father, Lemuel Phillips and his beloved Wife, Dorothy Gumbs. Washington is survived by his brothers: Lemuel, (Anguilla), Irvin (Anguilla), Oliver (St. Thomas) and Otneil Phillips (Anguilla) and their families. He is also survived by his sister: Celestine Daniel and her family (St. Thomas); Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends too numerous to be mentioned. Special Friends included Mary Alexander, Eric LeBlanc, Frank Hodge and Joan Greaux. He was related to the Phillips, the Gumbs, the Hodges, the Lakes, the Rogers and the Flemings.
