Delva P. Gumbs-Turnbull
Founder, President, Funeral Director, Embalmer
District-9 Governor of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, Inc. Mrs. Delva Gumbs-Turnbull is the first generation of the Gumbs and Turnbull family to provide the Virgin Islands community and the larger Caribbean with excellence in funeral services. As a young lady emerging in the Virgin Islands, she always had a passion for funeral sciences, wherein she volunteered her services after school and then eventually became gainfully employed with a local funeral home upon returning home and graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services and the University of Puerto Rico School of Medical Sciences. Mrs. Gumbs-Turnbull is a Licensed Mortician & Funeral Director and Facial Restoration Specialist, and has over 20 years of experience under her belt in Funeral Sciences and Administration. Also, she holds a designation as a Certified Funeral Service Provider and a Certified Crematory Operator, and a Certificate of Proficiency in HIV Primary Care. In addition to uniquely serving her community, Mrs. Gumbs-Turnbull serves as a mentor for youths, wherein she is currently working to develop an extensive regional outreach and youth program, which seeks to mold the youth of the Caribbean and the Virgin Islands that has shown a keen interest in the funeral industry; and to expand and further improve professional funeral services throughout the Caribbean. Mrs. Delva Gumbs-Turnbull continues to excel with unwavering enthusiasm and allegiance; she possesses remarkable characteristics.

Deja M. Turnbull-Tucker
Vice President, Funeral Director, Embalmer
Remaining committed to the family tradition of more than 38 years, Deja’ D. M. Turnbull-Tucker has well over 10 years of being a funeral service professional.
Mrs. Turnbull-Tucker is the daughter of Mr. Michael M. Turnbull and Mrs. Delva P. Gumbs-Turnbull(Licensed Mortician and Funeral Director and Certified Crematory Operator) of Turnbull’s Funeral Home and Crematory Services, a quality and professional funeral service provider in the United States Virgin Islands. Deja is a third generation Funeral Director, currently serving as Assistant Manager at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. She is a graduate of All Saints Cathedral School, Class of 2016 and a Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service- (Decatur, Georgia) Associate Degree recipient in Mortuary Science. Deja also holds a Cremation Operator Certificate and is a member of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.
In the State of South Carolina, Mrs. Turnbull-Tucker served as an apprentice for two years, thus being to transcend her craft under the tutelage of immaculate Funeral Directors and Embalmers in the business. After many years of creative training, Deja now specializes in Embalming, Restorative Art, Natural Countering Appearances and Dressing and Casketing. She has truly shown her dedication to providing quality-care to all families with poise and possesses the ability to meet and exceed every expectation coupled with professionalism and compassion.

Shakur H. Tucker is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer at The Turnbull's Funeral Home and Crematory Services. He is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. Shakur graduated from CaneBay High School and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service (Decatur, Georgia), where he earned an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. After the completion of Mortuary School, he moved back to Charleston, South Carolina, to serve his apprenticeship and continued to enhance and perfect his craft under the leadership of great Funeral Directors and Embalmers. Shakur is dedicated to providing quality care when families need it most and is poised to meet and exceed their every expectation in both professionalism and compassion. He looks forward to serving the Families of the U.S. Virgin Islands with Compassion, respect, and Excellence.
